What each one is good at
- Pallet racking maximises pallet storage by going vertical - great when the problem is 'where do the pallets go?'
- A mezzanine adds a full, walk-on floor you can use for anything - storage, offices, assembly, more racking on top
- Racking is fixed to a storage job; a mezzanine is flexible floor area
When a mezzanine wins
If you need people working up there, a mix of uses, or you've simply run out of floor rather than rack height, a mezzanine is usually the better answer. It turns empty air into productive space you can lay out however you like.
It's also the move when you want offices or a staff area over the operation, which racking can't give you.
